If people no longer expect objectivity from their political and legal systems, then all justice will be reduced to a power struggle between conflicting and irreconcilable perspectives, a struggle in which the most dominant and pervasive bias will replace fair and impartial process as the character of justice. But if objectivity in law and politics is everywhere supplanted by conflict between subjective interests, then the side of economic privilege and established authority will always retain dominance. A society in which people no longer expect representatives of its major institutions even to attempt to render objectivity in their professional demeanours is a society whose major institutions are in a crisis of ethical legitimacy. In such a society, there is wide spread cynicism regarding the possibility of fair political process because it seems impossible that impartial, unbiased dispositions could exist to enact such processes.

4 reasons Why Christy Clark must go
1) Christy Clark Mismanages the Economy – Increasing debt, deficits – Selling off public property – Creating budgetary dependency on raw resource extraction while spending away the proceeds when they should be saved and invested for future generations.
If the resources of a nation are to be used, they should increase the wealth of the nation. Development can be a responsible and cautious conversion of underground wealth to above ground wealth. Underground wealth should be used to supply domestic industries, entered into a strategic stockpile, or saved and invested in a sovereign wealth fund. In this way the wealth of the nation increases over time. However the current ruling neo-liberal school of thought forces us to shovel as much wealth out the door as soon as possible at the lowest prices. Any revenues generated are spent on current consumption/ operating costs. Neo-liberal economic theory puts the interests of multinational corporate profits over the objective of national wealth/ development/ power. The Communist Chinese dictatorship is taking advantage of the failed economic ideology of Western Neo-liberalism in order to corrupt and interfere in our internal affairs. Any political party that gives away our sovereignty to foreign dictators is a puppet of foreign powers and a danger to the peace. The two headed liberal/conservative movement are the same beast. In the interest of national security, all liberal/conservative candidates should be booted from office as soon as possible. We the people demand a world of non-violence and compassion, and we demand that any trade, investment, or business operations be conducted according to the highest of human rights standards. Hight standards, whereby business, government, and society in general is a place where people love one another, and whereby truth and respect takes precedence over greed and self interest.
Why Isn't Christy Clark More Popular?
“BC Liberals are on their way to doubling the provincial debt since 2001, from $33.8 billion to $66.3 billion in 2015!”
The Era of Tax Cut Stupidity that Starved BC
Election year, BC's small projected surplus depends on asset sales and optimism
Selling off property to pay the bills, selling off non-renewable resources for a piece of what they are worth, does that sound like strategic fiscal management to you?
Oil riches wasted discredit the 'Calgary School.' But a proven path to prosperity exists.
“Norway produces roughly the same amount of oil as Alberta, yet this tiny nation has managed to salt away over $600 billion in accumulated oil wealth in a sovereign wealth fund that now amounts to more than one per cent of global equity markets. Norway has no public debt, full employment and fully-funded social programs that Canadians would drool over. Norwegians enjoy free university tuition, universal day care and 25 days of paid holidays per year. Per capita spending on healthcare is thirty per cent higher in Norway; funding for arts and culture is more than three times higher than Canada.”
Why can't neo-liberal economics (conservative/liberal) ever balance the budget?
your government pays too much of its road, education, and hospital bills with finite and volatile hydrocarbon revenue.
“ must "redirect the revenues gained from the sale of resources away from the government's budget and toward saving," ”
" "As we noted previously this is the solution to the problem of energy price volatility that has been successfully employed by energy-rich Norway... ”
2) Christy Clark Supports FIPA
Premier Clark Supports Canada-China Trade Deal, Abandons BC's Constitutional Rights
Rafe Mair
1. “It applies to trade agreements between Canada and China and, thanks to the premier, BC as well.
2. It is, like NAFTA, a treaty that for practical reasons, is all but unbreakable for 31 years.
3. It gives China the ability to obtain huge damages if we don’t perform our side of any deal and to sue for them in her own courts
4. This agreement has not been debated in Parliament nor in the Legislature of BC
5. It won’t be debated in Parliament or the BC Legislature because both the Prime Minister and Premier Clark don’t think they need the agreement of our legislative bodies
6. Without any question, this treaty will impact upon the Province of British Columbia and could cost us hundreds of millions of dollars
7. It seriously compromises the constitutional rights BC has under Section 92 of the Constitution Act (1982)”
“We live in a federation where both the federal government and the provinces have legal, inviolable rights. This is the glue that holds the nation together.” “On the pipelines/tankers specifically there are a number of areas where BC has the absolute right to make conditions or ban them outright. Premier Clark, in her disastrous statement, has, on the face of it, estopped BC from exercising our rights. “Estopped” means that she has taken a position upon which another has acted and can no longer exercise the rights she signed away.”
“In short, by agreeing to this treaty, she has, for the length of the contract, surrendered our right to exercise our constitutional rights.”
“We have, then, given our constitutional rights away without any consultation with the people who lose these powers. It’s been called “economic treason” and I agree.”
The Rush to Ratify: BC Rejected International Investment Deal in '98 and Should Do So Again
3) Christy Clark Supports Pipelines, Tankers
The Economics of Oil Pipelines and Supertankers
Robyn Allan
“The debate about oil pipelines and supertankers is not about economic benefit stacked against environmental cost to see if the risk is worth it.
That’s a false dichotomy. It’s developed by oil interests to pit ordinary Canadians against ordinary Canadians.”
“ The energy strategy in Canada is about multinational oil companies and national oil companies of foreign governments reaping vast financial gain and market power versus economic and environmental cost for the rest of us.
I am going to discuss the oil industry and how two pipeline projects—Enbridge’s Northern Gateway and Kinder Morgan’s Trans Mountain twining—fit into the oil sector’s strategy for Canada.
The costs of these pipeline proposals come in many forms.
What are they? Here’s the top 10:
1. Decades of higher oil prices for Canadian consumers and businesses across the country;
2. Lost opportunity to add value, create meaningful jobs and control environmental standards here at home;
3. Hollowing out of the oil sector as raw bitumen exports take precedence over upgrading and refining;
4. Twice the number of pipelines and almost double the tanker traffic to move diluted bitumen as compared to upgraded bitumen;
5. As soon as Northern Gateway and Trans Mountain are approved, more pipeline capacity will be requested;
6. Rapidly rising exchange rates along with rising diluted bitumen oil prices, impacting other sectors of our economy and our ability to export;
7. Continued reliance on foreign, higher priced oil imports through eastern Canada;
8. A growing dependence on foreign condensate imports through western Canada;
9. Crowding out of BC’s legitimate and vibrant economic activity; and
10. Supernatural British Columbia becomes a Supertanker terminal for Alberta. ”
Bitumen’s Deep Discount Deception and Canada’s Pipeline Mania: An Economic and Financial Analysis
“1)Western Canadian unconventional heavy (WCS) and light crude (SCO) oil experienced normal differentials as compared to WTI in 2012.
2)The majority of oil sands supply comes from producers who are also integrated downstream operators and they make up the difference in the second step–the WTI to Brent spread–in their refinery margins.
3)It is effectively Canadian consumers and businesses that are price-gouged at the pumps. We pay petroleum product prices as if all Canadian crude oil was purchased by refineries at Brent prices–as if we imported all our crude oil from foreign markets.
4)The “supply glut” in Cushing, Oklahoma was largely industry induced and much of it was anticipated. It is expected to be sorted out within the next year, or so, as companies solve their technical difficulties with refinery and pipeline capacity expansions. This throughput realignment will occur without approval of the three bitumen export pipelines.”
The day after the release of Bitumen’s Deep Discount Deception, CIBC World Markets released a short report claiming losses from the double discount. I contacted CIBC to request their underlying analysis. Unfortunately CIBC will not be transparent or accountable for their calculations and refused to discuss their figures or the shortcomings in their methodology. I have addressed the recent claims in an article published in the Tyee “Oil Sands Money ‘Left on the Table’ and More Myths”.

Canada's Petro Lobbyists Grow Faster than Pipelines
"Oil and pipeline companies, including seven of the world's largest corporations, have intensified their lobbying efforts in Ottawa over the last four years and held 2,733 meetings with public officials."
Rafe Mair: All I Want for Christmas Is a May election that puts in power true defenders of BC's natural bounty.
“To me the dominant issue before all others going into May's provincial election is the environment. Fiscal fudge-ups can be fixed as can most bad policy. But environmental damage -- be it due to fish farms, pipelines, tankers, Site C or loss of agricultural land -- is, to all intents and purposes, permanent.”
---
Opposition Statement on Government support of pipelines:
This isn’t the first time the BC Liberals have failed to act in the public interest. When it came time to stand up for our province in the Enbridge pipeline review process, they passed the buck to Ottawa – over 4000 kilometres away from the people the project will directly affect. Only you and your neighbours can truly understand the environmental and economic devastation a major oil spill might bring to your community.
4) Christy Clark backs Temporary Foreign Workers Program, HD Mining
HD misled saying it needed Chinese specialists for 'long wall' mining
" The company said it intended to use the so-called long-wall technique to harvest coal from its Murray River mine and insisted the Chinese workers were needed for their specialties in the use of it."
"But according to documents obtained by the union, HD Mining's application to the B.C. Ministry of Natural Resource Operations in June 2011 shows during a two-year bulk sample collection period the company had no plan to employ the long-wall technique. "
“After winning a court decision to have resumes of 300 Canadians who applied for the positions handed over to them, unions have accused the company of turning down fully qualified Canadians for the jobs.”
“Unions began their fight against the company on the basis that Canadian resources should be used to create jobs for Canadians”
" The case has been an open pit of controversy since it was discovered by the United Steelworkers union the company had listed Mandarin as a language requirement in job advertisements. Labour groups contested that was done to eliminate Canadian candidates so the company could be granted Labour Market Opinions supporting their case for foreign miners for smaller wages. "
Steelworkers Allege BC Importer of Chinese Miners Tied to Deadly Accidents
“Dehau Mines linked to Shandong energy group, whose subsidiaries had five disasters killing nearly 200 workers”
HD Mining's Biggest Backer Is Mysterious, Say Steelworkers
“It also questions the backgrounds of some of the people involved in the company, such as the company's chief consultant Ye Qing, referring to him as "as high-level an insider as one might hope to become within the Chinese Communist Party."

In each instance, they have refused to answer. "The Missing Recovery
" Foreign hires are not additions to the work force, but replacements. The corporations force their American employees to train the foreigners, and then the American employees are discharged. Obviously, if skilled employees were in short supply, they would not be laid off. Moreover, if the skills were in short supply, salaries would be bid up, not down, and the 36% of those who graduated in 2011 with a doctorate degree in engineering would not have been left unemployed. The National Science Foundation’s report, “Doctorate Recipients From U.S. Universities,” says that only 64% of the Ph.D. engineering graduates found a pay check. "" By focusing on the bottom line at all costs, corporations are destroying the US consumer market. Offshoring jobs reduces labor costs and raises profits, but it also reduces domestic consumer income, thus reducing the domestic market for the corporation’s products. For awhile the reduction in consumer income can be filled by the expansion of consumer debt, but when consumers reach their debt limit sales cannot continue to rise. The consequence of jobs offshoring is the ruination of the domestic consumer market. "
" To sum up, the corporations’ focus on the bottom line has disconnected US incomes from the production of the goods and services that the American people consume, thus weakening and ultimately destroying the domestic consumer market. The Fed’s focus on saving banks, which mindless deregulation allowed to become “too big to fail,” has created a bond market bubble of negative real interest rates and a dollar bubble in which the dollar’s exchange rate has not declined in keeping with the large increase in its supply. Both the corporations and the Fed have created a stock market bubble based on profits obtained from labor arbitrage (the substitution of cheaper foreign labor for US labor) and from banks speculating with the money that the Fed is providing to them.
This situation is untenable. Sooner or later something will pop these bubbles, and the consequences will be horrendous. "
Growth, Debt and Trade
" The current economic model assumes that perpetual growth is possible on our fragile and finite planet. This economic model is dependent on consumption and the waste that accompanies consumption means that most of what we buy is cheap and ends up in our waste streams within six month of purchase. The economy is financed by debt and debt levels are unsustainable and growing. Virtually all levels of government, individuals and families carry too much debt compared to their income. The globalized economy was made possible by cheap fossil fuels and globalized trade. Fossil fuels are no longer cheap and most countries’ economies are contracting.
BC Greens will work with British Columbians to plan for and transition to an economy based in place and community where trade is local and based in durable goods and services. "

Buchanan: World turns to Nationalism
" How does the Chinese Communist Party justify control of all of China’s institutions today — economic, political, military and cultural? If Marxism is mocked behind closed doors by a new economic elite and tens of millions of Chinese young, what can cause the nation to continue to respect and obey a Communist Party and its leaders, besides the gun?
The answer of Europe in the 1930s is China’s answer today.
Nationalism, tribalism, patriotic war if necessary, will bring the masses back. If the Chinese nation is being insulted, if ancestral lands are occupied by foreigners as in olden times, the people will rally around a regime that stands up for China. " According to Abe, relations between China and Japan have been suffering due to unintended consequences of moves by the Communist Party of China to retain its legitimacy. China’s economic opening led to unequal prosperity, eliminating the Party’s main pillar of support, equality. To counter that, the Chinese government pursued a two-prong strategy of economic growth and patriotism. Economic growth required Beijing to expand its sourcing of commodities, moving China naturally onto the sea. Meanwhile, patriotism, tinged with anti-Japanese teaching, has come to pervade the educational system and society.Abe argued that China is pursuing a path of coercion or intimidation, particularly in the East and South China seas, as part of its resource-acquisition strategy. Anti-Japanese undercurrents in Chinese society due to the inculcation of patriotism have won domestic support for the assertive Chinese actions. "

China's unofficial extraditions from Canada
So the government doesn't want to have to go through a judge to detain people on behalf of the Communist Chinese. If this was 30 years ago and the government was meeting Soviet agents behind the publics back for the purposes of arranging extra judicial deportation to the gulags, there would have been a great national outrage. In 1939 what would have happened if it was discovered that the government had aided Nazi agents apprehend and deport people from Canada? Our country is under the influence of foreign dictators. 1) don't work with commies 2) don't bypass judicial warrants
You have to ask yourself what kind of a world do you want. Do you want a world controlled by totalitarian thugs?
The objective of the free world should be to create a world governed by compassion.
Or at least insulate ourselves in well defended freedom zones where tyrants have no reach.
China seeks unofficial extraditions from Canada: document
" OTTAWA – Legal experts are raising red flags about “disguised extraditions” after a letter obtained by Global News shows Canadian border officials met with their Chinese counterparts to discuss what to do with fugitives sought by the communist country.
“CBSA is using deportation as disguised extradition,” said Audrey Macklin, a law professor at the University of Toronto. “Essentially China is recruiting Canada to do its dirty work for it and circumventing extradition. This does not look good on CBSA or Canada.”
Extradition normally requires a country to formally request that Canada return an alleged fugitive – a decision that is made by the federal justice minister and an extradition judge.
Immigration lawyer Lorne Waldman has seen firsthand the reliability of Chinese investigators. He cross-examined one who was brought to Canada to testify at an immigration hearing.
On the stand, the Chinese official denied the 1989 Tiananmen Square massacre even though reports put the death toll in the hundreds and some in the thousands.
“Extradition puts stricter requirements on the state who is requesting extradition that it has evidence that is capable or constituting genuine criminal offence and the process it uses both to get evidence and to try an individual charged with a criminal offence meets basic human rights and fairness standards,” "
BC's Look into Mining Recruitment Fees Falls Short: Union
" The case snowballed and eventually ended up in federal court where the company was forced to release documents related to permits granted for 201 workers it planned to bring to the project from China.
Such permits require proof the company tried unsuccessfully to find Canadians for the positions and the released documents included the resumes of 300 Canadians who applied for the jobs but were not hired.
The United Steelworkers union is accusing the provincial government of misleading the public about investigating allegations Chinese miners are paying money to work in Canada.
In the letter, Deputy Minister of Tourism, Jobs and Skills Training Dave Byng said it completed its investigation into the allegations in November 2012 and found no evidence B.C.-based companies were charging fees.
In the original report by The Tyee the company found to be charging the miners, Canada CIBS Investment and Trade Group, said on its Chinese website it was a Vancouver-based company. "

Organ Harvesting in China Addressed in Canada's Parliament
Show This To Anyone That Believes That “Things Are Getting Better” In America
" Back in 1985, our trade deficit with China was approximately 6 million dollars (million with a little "m") for the entire year.
In 2012, our trade deficit with China was 315 billion dollars. That was the largest trade deficit that one nation has had with another nation in the history of the world.
In particular, our trade with China is extremely unbalanced. Today, U.S. consumers spend approximately 4 dollars on goods and services from China for every one dollar that Chinese consumers spend on goods and services from the United States.
But isn't getting cheap stuff from China good?
No, because it costs us good paying jobs.
According to the Economic Policy Institute, the United States is losing half a million jobs to China every single year.
Overall, more than 56,000 manufacturing facilities in the United States have been shut down since 2001. During 2010, manufacturing facilities in the United States were shutting down at a rate of 23 per day. How can anyone say that "things are getting better" when our economic infrastructure is being absolutely gutted? "

Industrial Apartheid – How to Stop the New World Order Part 2
Wealth, Nations, and the New World Order
To become wealthy one must consume less than they produce and invest the excess savings wisely. I'm sure we all know people who just can't seem to figure this out. They spend everything they earn as soon as the cash flows in. Some people even go into debt to finance their irresponsible consumption. Debt is only good if it is used as a tool to finance investments that produce a return, and even then caution should be used to keep debt at a manageable level. The same principles that apply to individuals apply to nations. A nation can not consume more than it produces and expect to remain a wealthy nation. Nations engage in trade with one another just as individuals do. Goods can be exchanged for three things:
Other Goods (I trade my lumber for your smartphone)
Debt (I promise to pay in the future plus interest for your smartphone)
Assets (I sell my business to you for your smartphone)
If a nation is consuming more than it is producing it must pay through the creation of debts or through the sale of assets. No nation can issue debt forever, as eventually the country will not be able to afford the interest payments. No nation can sell assets forever as every nation only has a limited amount of assets. Our capacity to trade is finite, it is limited to our ability to pay. Therefore the strategy of a leader should be to increase the wealth of the nation, by maintaining stewardship over the balance of trade.
A nations consumption should be regulated, that it not exceed a nations production, unless in times of legitimate crises such as war, where the survival of the nation is at stake. The objective of national wealth is met by the maximization of national ownership over advanced productive assets, and the minimization of national obligations to deliver future payment to foreign creditors. In short, it is the responsibility of our representatives in government to increase our ownership of assets and decrease our debts to foreigners.
We are now living in a New World Order. The Globalists have moved our national productive capacities outside of our boarders. Our economy is made in China, and all the wealth generated that once would have gone to balance our books is now in the hands of a racist Totalitarian Regime. Our corporations are no longer national but “multinational”. They have no loyalty to our national objectives. In fact many times the interests of corporations are in direct conflict with our national interest.
When corporations were first permitted to exist, there was effort taken to ensure that they served the public interest. In exchange for limited liability, a protection to limit the liability of investors to what they invested, investors were meant to serve the public interest. It was an exchange, a transaction between the state and the private investor, legal protection for public service.
This is in sharp contrast to the role of corporations in today's society. Today the corporations have concentrated so much wealth, so much power, that it is often the corporations who now regulate the behaviour of the government.
Multinational corporations will act to maximize corporate wealth regardless of the consequences to our national wealth. Therefore we must bring the corporate interest back into line with the national interest through policy and regulatory instruments.
To become capable, one must be engaged in activities that build capability. One must read write and think to become learned. One must exercise to become strong. Those who do not commit to engaging in these activities will not become learned or strong. Capability is a manifestation of the will to become capable.
The same principles that apply to individuals also apply to nations. National Capability is the aggregate capability of the people of the nation. To create national wealth it is not enough to simply balance the dollar value of trade. The steward must also act to ensure that the people of the nation are employed in advanced activities that improve capability. It is not good for any country to be trapped as a resource colony of another.
The service sector alone does not provide sufficient opportunity for a nations people to reach their fullest capability. Furthermore, economies that are now overly dependant on the non-tradable service sector are not producing value added tradable goods. This leaves two options for a nation, run trade deficits, or massively increase exports of raw materials to pay for all the finished products entering the country.
Both options are bad. Trade deficits mean more debt and asset sell offs. Raw resource exports combined with lack of manufacturing capability mean the nation will become dependent on imports of finished goods. Finished goods that will cost more to the nation than was earned through initial export, forcing an increased extraction of the nations resources just to pay the spiraling cost of value added imports.
Industrial Apartheid is a form of Economic Imperialism where one nation monopolizes manufacturing and captures other nations, making them supply raw resources to the aggressor while prying open the captive nations markets to be flooded with manufactured goods of the aggressor nation. The aggressor nation becomes wealthy off of the captured nations and make every effort to make sure that the captured nations do not gain their Industrial Independence. This is done through the corruption of the ruling class in the captured nation using a cut of the loot taken by the aggressor. The New World Order is Industrial Apartheid.
To stop the New World Order and the Globalists we must rise up as the worlds people and assert our Industrial Independence. We must spawn a new political movement that will bring manufacturing capability back under the control of the people. Every nation has a right to produce. No nation, no people should suffer under the chains of eternal debt slavery.
Our future should be one where democracy and human rights are the property of all human beings. Where every local region has the capacity to offer its people opportunity, because the old NWO manufacturing monopolies were broken. Our future is one where the unholy axis between multinational corporations and the communist party of China is broken, and the will of the people is no longer beholden to the dictates of international trade and investment deals crafted and administered in secret.
These are more than words, these are ideas. These are the dreams and the aspirations of the worlds people. No one really wants to kill or die for the corrupt and powerful. No one wants to live in a world where the people are threatened with violence all to maintain the power of a psychopathic minority. No one wants Industrial Apartheid, so now let us unite in our declaration of Industrial Independence.
This endeavour will require us to elect representatives that will operate according to the principals of Industrial Independence and Democratic Sovereignty. Industrial Independence being the notion that every nation has a right to manufacturing capacity, and Democratic Sovereignty being the right of a nations people to decide their own trade and industrial policies regardless of the dictates of the World Trade Organization or any other international trade and investment deal.
The policies to be adopted will vary from nation to nation but the underlying idea will be the same. Nations should produce at least as much as they consume. Nations have a right to have their own manufacturing industries. Nations have a right to produce their own food and set strict food safety regulations. Nations have a right to refuse foreign takeovers of their productive assets. Ultimate authority rests in the hands of the people of the nation through the process of democracy and not in the corporate boardroom. CEOs must balance the needs of the country with the need for efficiency.
Whenever possible the act of consumption should be taxed over the act of production. We want to create an incentive for people to act responsibly. Nations should have the right to set tariffs, impose non-tariff barriers and even ban imports. Nations should be able to build their grids using components domestically produced or produced in friendly democratic countries. Nations should be able to feed themselves and provide for their defense.
Strategic Industrial policy’s can be crafted by a vetted team of technocratic business strategists, futurists, engineers and scientists whose mandate is to create a long term national strategy to achieve National Capability. A central agency can be created to co-ordinate all branches of government to be in line with the national economic interest. An industry portfolio management division should be created with the mandate of maximizing the number of star and cash cow industries.
We must provide incentives for industries to localize operations. Local start ups should be nurtured in exchange for their long term commitment to localized production, employment and the national interest. Supply chains should be localized. Research and development should at least be 3% of GDP, preferably more.
Education must include courses on how to handle money, business, critical thinking, philosophy, ethics and how to take responsibility for your family and your country. We must commit to building character in our people as they are the strongest tower of our defense.
We should create a National Manufacturing Research and Development Agency whose mandate is to research advanced production techniques to improve the efficiency of our producers. The innovations can be licensed to domestic producers. The objective will be to find advances in areas like new processes, information systems, robotics, advanced materials, energy efficiency, mass customization, waste water management, 3D printing, modularization, continuous flow.
We should consider establishing special economic manufacturing zones in depressed areas with tax advantages and a ready supply of unemployed labour. We should Co-ordinate to activities of our nationally controlled multinationals so they do not cannibalize each others strategic moves.
Core industries must be kept under domestic control including defense, agriculture, energy, health, infrastructure construction, education. The strategic goal of a nation should be to retain National Capability, the ability of a nation to take actions and create its own future free form foreign aggression and manipulation of the democratic process.
Our objectives should include a commitment to keep growth industries in within our jurisdiction, and to not surrender our capacity them to the evils of outsourcing. We invest a lot of resources in developing new projects, only for production of those projects, and thus return on investment, to leave our jurisdiction. This waste must end.
We must put provisions in place to prevent trade deficits from occurring. We must limit foreign ownership of our debts and require retirement plans to invest a percentage in public dept, sweetening the deal by making the required contributions interest tax free.
We should create a national development bank to provide funding for national projects and provide below market rates to patriotic domestic companies acting in the national interest.
Our goal should be to make our nations into leading technological innovators. If all nations are directing resources to this we can tap the human talent pool, and prevent authoritarian regimes from monopolizing technological capability. We should provide organizational assistance to underdeveloped democracies of the world to build relationships with the mutual goal of undermining Industrial Apartheid, and advancing the cause of human rights. We should create an Alliance of Democracies.
Me should maintain focus on the strategic industries of the future, clean energy, next generation information technology, biotechnology, high tech manufacturing, new energy sources, new materials, new energy cars/ transportation methods. We should plan cities to require less transportation infrastructure, mixing living, working, shopping and recreation centers.
Government procurement should be purchased from domestic industries, increasing output, spreading fixed costs over more units and thus lowering cost per unit. We must strategically guard against foreign direct investment by hostile nations.
In order to deal with imbalances there are a number of non-tariff barriers that can be utilized including, import bans, country of origin requirements, protection of sanitary and phytosanitary conditions, product specific quotas, quality condition regulations, packaging and labeling requirements, product standards, trade documents, certificates of origin or certificate of authenticity, health safety regulations, employment laws, import licenses, rules about subsidies or state ownership, rules against export subsidies, minimum import price requirements, import quotas, lengthy customer procedures.
We should regulate the practice of transfer pricing.
Instead of the government going into debt every time they feel they need economic stimulus, government owned limited liability corporations should go into debt and spend on the domestic economy, this way the public has limited liability, debt obligations are compartmentalized and funds are directed in a more targeted manner to undertake specific industrial objectives.
An international media campaign should take the message of Industrial Independence, opportunity, and prosperity directly to the worlds people. Once the electorate is organized and aware the politicians will have a hard time ignoring the will of the people if they want to be elected. No one wants to be a resource colony to a violent totalitarian regime. Preserving our democracy is preserving our prosperity. With every act of oppression directed towards us, the movement will grow.
Money must be taken out of politics. Donations should be limited to citizens only, not organizations, and a limit of some small amount, say $20 max donation per person per year should be put in place. Tax breaks for political donations should be eliminated. Limits should be put on the amount an individual can use of their own money to finance a political campaign. Politicians should not be allowed to hire strategists, communications directors, or campaign managers. This will promote more open dialogue about the issues and remove a lot of spin.
Lobbying should be illegal. If you are a corporation with infinite funds you should not get special access to write the nations laws. Political parties should be less powerful and candidates should not be pressured to vote the same way as their party. The debates should be moderated with clearly set rules stating that the candidates must stick to the issues.
Our political systems must be reformed. As they stand they do not represent the broad will of the people. There are too many barriers to participation, and entire election cycles can pass without any real issues being addressed. People are disengaged because they are sick of this never ending circus. Reforms must be made to ensure we are never led down this path of debt, asset sales and outsourcing ever again. Capitalism in it's current form is at odds with national prosperity.
Our dream is one where people can live and love one another, free from political violence, in functioning democracies that protect the human rights of the people. A world where nations do not consume more than they produce, where industrial production is localized, and the efforts of the worlds nations are focused on innovation funded by localized opportunity centres in every region, fed by the talent and aspirations of the worlds free thinkers.
The way of localized manufacturing is the way we must go for two reasons:
1. Our current trade imbalances are unsustainable both financially and environmentally.
2. If we allow advanced manufacturing production and innovation to be concentrated in the hands of the communist party of China, they will being death and destruction to the worlds people. We must not allow a totalitarian regime who rules by the barrel of the gun to achieve global dominance. The lives of all those who think freely, and the value dialogue brings to society will be lost if power is left to those who have made it their goal to kill everyone who gets in their way of global domination.
Please put away your hatred and realize you are human. Your future is in learning to love those who disagree with you. Your future is in democracy.
Together we will stand for something.
We will make this all mean something.
Together we will end Industrial Apartheid.

Strategic Capitalism: The New Economic Strategy for Winning the Capitalist Cold War
Strategic Capitalism: The New Economic Strategy for Winning the Capitalist Cold War
- The world’s best competitors—with China in the lead—have adopted elements of managed capitalism, in which government and businesses work together toward a single aim.
- China’s objective is clear—to displace the United States as the world’s economic leader by becoming the global rule maker.
- If the West does not act soon, it stands to lose everything it holds most dear: financial prosperity, economic freedom, geopolitical power, national security, and even democratic values.
Bleak as the situation may be, D’Aveni contends that the West can reverse the trends currently tilting the global balance of power.
In order to meet the challenges of the future, America must revisit long-held assumptions about economics and economies, seriously consider radical alternative policies, and embrace the concept of Strategic Capitalism.

Author d'Aveni describes how the new 'economic cold war' began, how the best competitors utilize managed capitalism (government and business working together), and what America will lose if it doesn't act soon. The Forward is by Daniel DiMico, Nucor CEO, and also is noteworthy. Mr. DiMico asserts that we are losing the trade war with China - it has already cost us millions of jobs, thereby devastating our middle class and government at all levels. He contends we need to enforce existing trade laws and agreements to right things. Second, he contends we need a national industrial strategy to replace the wishful thinking that a service-based economy can replace manufacturing as a wealth-creating engine. (Manufacturing used to be 30% of GDP, now it's at 9.9% - recommends 20%.)
Traditional American capitalism has become outdated. We have tied our hands and closed our minds - sticking to politically correct discussions. It makes no sense for a nation to maximize stockholder wealth transferring jobs and capital to foreign markets, leaving one's own people without jobs and unable to pay their mortgages. This is the equivalent of milking a mature nation (the U.S.), risking its ultimate survival. We need to stop accepting our weak economy as the 'new normal,' stop being distracted by wars, terrorism, gay marriage, etc, stop relying on theories encapsulating what used to work, stop focusing on the short term, stop believing that Free Trade with China, Mexico, etc. is not a mostly win-lose proposition, and stop predicting (hoping) that China's economic miracle will not last.
The 'really bad news' is that we're handcuffed by debts and deficits, our government decisions in these areas are made by professional politicians lacking expertise, cobbled together behind closed doors with strong (bud well hidden) biases purchased by political donors, numerous compromises that breed inconsistencies, conflicts, and holes. Suggests consolidating eg. The Commerce Dept., SBA, and several other agencies as a first step (proposed by Obama), and removing Congress from the equation.
Japan was the first to burst America's Free Trade honeymoon post WWII, treating customers, suppliers, and employees well, and refining its manufacturing skills to produce both better quality and lower costs. Japan, however, was dependent on the U.S. for its military defense, and probably too amenable to U.S. prodding - eg. follow accepted international monetary policy, leading to internal inflation. China, however, owes the U.S. nothing, has a much larger population (greater leverage over companies and investors, a seemingly infinite supply of low-cost labor, and strongly held values in which individuals are expected to sacrifice for the common good). It also has mastered the ability to use its firms as instruments of state and foreign policy, takes the long-term view, and does not manage to maximize profits. The CCP appoints at least the top three positions in each of its 50 largest SOES, and other state asset supervision entities control appointments at many others. (SOEs make up about half the economy.)
Our laissez-faire approach lacks national goals, forces firms to march to Wall Street's tune, allows businesses to be managed for the almost exclusive benefit of stockholders, and permits large numbers of jobs to be sent overseas - impoverishing the general public. Our approach also created three major recent problems - the Internet bubble, the real estate bubble, and then the credit crisis.
China's Three Gorges Dam provides 8X the power of Hoover Dam. It is targeting for non-fossil fuels to generate 15% of energy by 2020, and building one nuclear power plan/month.
China's Five Year Plan mandates that Chinese components replace foreign parts in all core infrastructure.' Chinese piracy costs an estimated $48 billion in U.S. 2009 sales (2.1 million jobs).
In 2000, most countries traded much more heavily with the U.S. than China. By 2010, India, Russia, Spain, Germany, Indonesia, Italy, and Japan had moved into China's trade dominance, leaving the U.S. with Turkey, Canada, Mexico, and the U.K. China is the world's largest exporter (> $1.2 trillion, then Germany at $1.2 trillion, and the U.S. at slightly less than $1 trillion).
U.S. annual government investment in infrastructure (2.4%), China (9%), Europe (5%). the national U.S. savings rate was 4.6% on 1/1/12, vs. 14.6% in 1975. Germany's is 16%, China's 38-53% (depending on which recent year).
The Heritage Foundation produces an 'Economic Freedom Index' comparing various nations. In the early 2000s, those with the least freedom grew the fastest, and by 2009 the relationship was negative. (Wealth/capital vs. the Freedom Index displays the expected pattern - for now.)
We need goals, depoliticizing the economic, long-term perspective, some free-market incentives, nationalism, benchmarking, experimentation, the ability to address problems quickly, and continuous improvement. The author also recommends we push China to comply with the agreements it has made, and establish a list of strategically important industries for ourselves - eg. telecommunications and heavy equipment, steel, IT, robotics, machine tools, etc., and return their production to the U.S.

DEATH BY CHINA Documentary
From best-selling author and filmmaker, Peter Navarro, comes DEATH BY CHINA, a documentary feature that pointedly confronts the most urgent problem facing America today -- its increasingly destructive economic trade relationship with a rapidly rising China.
Since China began flooding U.S. markets with illegally subsidized products in 2001, over 50,000 American factories have disappeared, more than 25 million Americans can't find a decent job, and America now owes more than 3 trillion dollars to the world's largest totalitarian nation. Through compelling interviews with voices across the political spectrum, DEATH BY CHINA exposes that the U.S.-China relationship is broken and must be fixed if the world is going to be a place of peace and prosperity.
Premiering in Los Angeles on August 17, 2012 and in NYC on August 24th, DEATH BY CHINA will be touring cities across the U.S.
